E911-Updating Your Location


It's Time to Update Your e911 Location!

Did you know that firefighters recommend that we check batteries in our smoke detectors every month?

We even replace batteries every 6 months! While you do that, take the time to check your e911 location in your VRS account!

If you moved to a new address, or plan to be away from home for several days, we strongly encourage you to update your location in your VRS account. This will save time during a 911 call!

In many cases, especially with Z5 or P3 on your mobile phone, you will be at a location that is different from the address in your account. You should be prepared to know the location to be able to give to the video interpreter if you dial 911, so first responders can come to assist you quickly.

Remember, for some emergencies, minutes can make a difference. A wrong address can result in first responders being sent to the wrong location. It’s simple. You can change the e911 location by accessing your Z5 or P3 app on your mobile device under settings or visit your account on either the ZVRS or Purple website.

Remember, 911 saves lives!
